The manager also said that it also relies on “Ferran Torres, we will see”.
Barcelona’s interest in Julián Alvarez is understandable, he is versatile, moves well and scores goals, but the situation of Atlético Madrid is a big challenge. The Spanish club are a key player in their plans and have made it clear that they’re not about to make it easy for the forward to leave. Barcelona might have to be creative when the transfer window opens, as they may need to find an alternative to a player.
At the moment Flick seems to be happy to wait and see what Deco and the club’s sporting department have to offer. Barcelona have already added to their attacking line, but have left a big gap in the centre-forward position after the departure of Lewandowski. The club will have to make a decision over the next few weeks whether or not they wish to sign a new striker or trust players such as Torres to do the job.
