Sevilla have finalised the deal for Real Madrid goalkeeper Fran González, who is a highly-rated player who has been lured to Andalusia to find his first-team football.
The agreement is said to contain a buy-back option that will enable Real Madrid to sign the 21-year-old again in the future.

González leaves Madrid for first-team opportunity
The Spaniard is leaving Madrid to take on a first-team role.
Regular opportunities at first team level were not going his way as the goalkeeper was placed behind Real Madrid’s Thibaut Courtois and Andriy Lunin.
His transfer to Sevilla will give González a better chance to make his way to senior football and further develop at the top level.
Real Madrid retain buy-back option
González is said to have agreed terms with Sevilla for a five-year contract that will cost the Andalusian club an initial €1 million.
Real Madrid, however, are not losing faith in his abilities, and have signed him with a buy-back clause.
The goalkeeper’s previous experience at Madrid makes the arrangement particularly interesting, as the Spanish giants could potentially bring him back if he develops into a top-level goalkeeper.
González already has La Liga experience
González has already made his La Liga debut for Real Madrid, despite being a youngster.
He made his league debut with Madrid in April 2025, making him the youngest goalkeeper to make a league debut for the club since Iker Casillas in 2000.
The youngster has also played for Spain at youth level, having made his debut at the Under-18 age.
Sevilla continue rebuilding with young talent
González’ signing comes as part of Sevilla’s push for younger players in the current transfer window.
The club have already brought in Julio Díaz, from Atlético Madrid, and Arouna Sangante, from Le Havre, and a number of experienced players have left.
Sevilla will be hoping the new-look team can avoid another relegation battle and can find stability under García.
New chapter begins for González
The transfer is a significant development in González’ career.
The 21-year-old has had limited opportunities with the established goalkeepers in Madrid but is now given the opportunity to make his mark with Sevilla.
The club will kick off their first full season with Luis García against Rayo Vallecano on August 15 before taking on Athletic Bilbao and Atlético Madrid in the next two league games.
Sevilla’s stay in the Spanish capital might turn out to be a crucial step in González’s development as Real Madrid will have a way back.
